What is an electronic prescription?
The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) creates savings by making prescribing and dispensing processes more efficient while improving patient care.
- If you collect your repeat prescriptions from your GP, you will not have to visit your GP practice to pick up your paper prescription. Instead, your GP will send it electronically to the place you choose, saving you time.
- You will have more choice about where to get your medicines from because they can be collected from a pharmacy near to where you live, work or shop.
- You may not have to wait as long at the pharmacy as there will be time for your repeat prescriptions to be ready before you arrive.
- If at any time you wish to change and nominate a different pharmacy, then just let your doctor’s surgery know which pharmacy you wish to collect from.
- Order your prescription from your GP as normal or Give us a call a week before you need your medicines. We will order your prescription and get it ready for you in pharmacy.
- You will get a more personal and friendly service at your local independent pharmacy.
